About Us

Bristol Young Professionals was formed in 2005 with the aim of promoting networking between those working in different occupations within and around the city of Bristol.

From an initial evening’s informal drinks, attended by around 30 individuals, the group has grown to over 800 members on the BYP mailing list from over 100 different companies.

BYP welcomes a wide variety of attendees to their events, with no restrictions or joining requirements in place apart from classing yourself as a 'Young Professional' each event is vibrant and good fun.  Regular attendees often bring work colleagues, housemates and friends along with them to introduce them to BYP, this means that at each event there are always new people and with such a large number of members there is a great deal of variety within those attending. 

BYP Monthly Drinks events do not have any set introductions, speeches or silly games to take part in.  Card swapping and 'enforced networking' is not actively encouraged but if you get chatting to someone interesting then do exchange details, BYP is more about socialising and having a chance to meet likeminded people working in and around Bristol in a friendly and non-pressured environment.       

Bristol Young Professional’s events are promoted by the Young Chartered Accountants’ Group, Bristol Junior Lawyers and matrics; the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors group.  BYP is very fortunate to have many members of these groups attending the Montly Drinks events on a regular basis. 

The BYP Committee work to create a vibrant and diverse social atmosphere at each event and there will always be Committee members at every Monthly Drinks event - ask around and find a Committee Member to say hello when you arrive!
